Museum Spa Wellness Hotel – Santorini

The Museum Spa Wellness Hotel is located on the magical Greek isles of Santorini. Staying true to the mystical stories that surround Santorini, it is believed to have been part of the lost island of Atlantis. On the isles is the village of Oia and is where visitors will find The Museum Spa Wellness Hotel.

The hotel has been recently restored from its former mansion state of the village into the luxuries beautiful hotel it is today. Originally, the accommodations were fit for kings (Othon and Amalia) as well as other officials and celebrities. So you can only expect the finest in all areas of the hotel.

Of course you must get to Santorini, which depending on your travel distance, can comprise the bulk of financial burden for the trip. However, once you reach this oasis of luxury and wellness, you will be glad you made the journey.

The Museum Spa Wellness Hotel is comprised of 7 studios and suites featuring full equipped amenities such as: satellite TV, kitchenette, air-conditioning, safe-deposit box, hair dryer, and telephone. One of the best features is viewing the famous Santorini sunset from most all studios and suites. Additionally, the local volcanic islands are visible from the studios located on the upper level.

So what makes The Museum Spa Wellness Hotel a healthtel?

From reviewing the European style of healthtel, it appears the spa features are viewed more as wellness amenities. There does not appear to be any medical facility or licensed staff (other than therapists) compared to most of the US wellness centers we’ve looked at. However, something tells us the wellness hotel originated in Europe. We may be mistaken, but the history of wellness and heath centered accommodations seem to suggest otherwise.

The Museum Spa Wellness Hotel has pool lined with frescoes and offers a swim under the shade of two olive trees, which are the oldest on the island. The spa service can be enjoyed for a small fee. Some of the Spa services include: facial, massage,  and Volcanic Spa treatments. The Spa does have beauty therapists on staff as well as therapists licensed in massages, aromatherapy, facials, chromotherapy, body treatments, pedicures and manicures.

Rates range from €80.00 a night to €185.00.

According to TripAdvisor, this is the Best Western Museum Spa Wellness Hotel. It received 3 ½ stars out of 5 on TripAdvisor with 67% recommending it.
